Town homes planned for Hibernia Avenue in Decatur
A developer is planning a development of 22 town homes at Hibernia Avenue in Decatur, GA.
Full disclosure, I live right around the corner from the property in question, located at 109 Hibernia Ave. The property is formerly the site of Christ Covenant Church, a building that’s been vacant and boarded up for months.
The development has stirred up some residents in the surrounding neighborhoods of Rosewalk and Lenox Place. Some residents of Lenox Place believe the property, located on 1.7 acres, was going to be developed into single family units.
Thrive Homes has submitted a site plan for the property, according to city spokeswoman Casie Yoder.
Attempts to reach Thrive Homes for comment were unsuccessful. This afternoon Thrive Homes Chief Operating Officer Kirstin Hobday contacted Decaturish about the project.
She said it’s still too early for the company to go into more detail about its plans.
